How Often You Should Have Your Gutters Cleaned in Oakland County, MI?

We recommend cleaning your gutters 4 times a year:

EARLY SPRING—mid to late March. The rough winter weather pulls the twigs, leaves, and debris off the trees. This is also the time when animals make their nests. This is the cleaning that will prepare your home for the April showers.

LATE SPRING—mid to late June. This is the time when seed pods and other blossoms finish falling. These will clog the gutters and the leaders. When these pods germinate you can have a garden growing in your gutters.

EARLY FALL—mid to late October. This cleaning not only removes the leaves deposited into the gutters after heavy summer rains but will also help in the event of an early freeze.

LATE FALL—late November to early December. Removal of all of the fall leaves and debris will help protect the gutters over the winter.

5 Step Gutter Cleaning Process

Step 1

Removal of leaves, acorns, sticks and other debris from your roof. If debris gets caught e.g. in roof valleys or behind your chimney(s), then for these situations we use extension poles or powerful air blowers to remove it.

Step 2

Any heavy debris is removed from your gutters by hand. Debris is placed into a bucket.

Step 3

Any remaining debris is then removed using high powered handheld blowers and/or by flushing the gutters with a garden hose. Simply removing the debris by hand does not clear all buildup or smaller particles. During this step, we are very careful not to stain the exterior of your gutters.

Step 4

We then test each downspout and ensure that each is clear. If one is blocked, we will snake it clear or flush it with a garden hose. Our technicians are trained and experienced in disassembling the elbow and unclog the blockage if necessary. Many gutter cleaning companies do not perform this essential step!

NOTE: Underground dry wells are not guaranteed and specifically excluded from gutter cleaning. However, we have high-powered hydro-jetter plumbing equipment designed specifically to clear underground drain pipes. There is an additional charge for this service.

Step 5

We clean up any debris surrounding your property and we dispose of it! Your gutters are left “spotless” and your yard clean.
